Docking at 0930 on 23/03/2009 at the Port of SalalahNTT Cruise-pro handled Cunard's Queen Mary 2 for the first time on 23rd March 2009. The biggest ocean liner in the world, she was 350 metres long, occupying the entire length of two berths at the Port of Salalah. She carried 2600 passengers and 1200 crew.
She docked at 0930 and NTT cruise pro team were immediately in action getting ready to send her passengers on a tour of Salalah. The sun was out and it was really humid. There was a lot of dust due to construction activity goingon nearby. But all the hard work paid off when were invited on board.
A once in a lifetime experience awaited us. We had coffee in one of the numerous restaurants onboard. The interiors were really amazing, a small floating city for the rich and the famous.
In the evening she headed out again into the pirate infested Strait of Aden with two huge British warship escorting her all the way up the Suez canal into Egypt.
All in all one of the best cruises I have ever handled. We look forward to seeing her soon.
